Mount Vernon STEM Design Students Featured in Virginia Living Magazine
Students in Mount Vernon High’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Design class were featured in the October issue of Virginia Living magazine. As part of a feature on top high schools and colleges, the magazine did a short story on the grant-funded, six-week program that taught the students marketable skills as they designed and built electric guitars. It was also featured in a School News story in March. Students were able to keep their finished guitars and encouraged to learn to play them at the end of the program.
